So I got a wax for the first time :-O

Ok....soo....Listen...Linda...girlllaaaa!!! Why didn't anyone tell me that getting a wax would hurt this bad!!! I have secretly always wanted to know what getting a wax "down there" felt like, and I would read blogs and watch Youtube video after video after video on other people's experiences in the past but then I would change my mind about getting one myself. The thought of a stranger looking at my private parts that isn't my doctor or husband, just made me feel ...ugh lol

However, I've always heard the benefits and good stuff about getting a wax though! So I randomly went on Yelp and found a spot near my house and looked at the reviews, watched more videos on Youtube, did research and committed to getting a "Full Bikini Wax."

I arrived at Pure Wax and Beaute like 10 min early filled out the consent forms and sat and waited for my turn, I purposely didn't want to think about the experience, so my mind wandered elsewhere and I looked at IG on my phone to pass time lol The receptionist lady was super nice and welcoming so that definitely helped! I probably waited about 10 minutes before Jessica brought me in this back room, I let her know this was my first time and she kinda laughed and said i'm her fourth newbie today so far lol She assured me that  I will love the results but also that it is a little painful, pshh a little?! lol

So I realized that she was engaging in "small talk" with me, I see that she was doing that to ease my nerves, and normally I don't like small talk but in this instance I was fine with it lol I remember her asking me if I had kids and to that I said , "Yes, I have a son." She then asked me, "How old is he?" I said, "16 months." Then she proceeds to ask me if I had a natural, vaginal birth and I said, "Yes." She then says to me, well if you can give birth then this is nothing! So I was like Ok cool!

Y'all she pulled that first wax strip after making me position my legs into a butterfly position, and I almost lost it! She continued on and I was just like "F it"...I came this far lol She kept telling me to think of "Happy thoughts" and I couldn't! lmbo. So I have to assume that since this was my very first time getting a wax it was super painful, because that's what Jessica said, sooooo i'm assuming the more I get a wax the less painful it'll be right?! Let's just say, giving birth was less painful to me than getting the Bikini wax, bruh....

However, I did schedule a follow up appointment next month lol I am just going to add this to my SELFcare :-)

"Worth the Hype"

So I'm all about a good mascara!!! Actually I will just wear mascara and fill in my brows on some days and that's it ! I purchased the NYX Worth the Hype Mascara, and I actually like it. I normally stick to my holy grail Maybelline mascara, which I still love! But it felt nice to venture out a little. I love a mascara that coats my lashes real well and elongates them or make them appear fuller and longer, I am satisfied with the length of my lashes but can't go wrong with longer lashes though! For me, I like to use a couple coats of this mascara and then I'm good to go😊😊😊

I do think the tube could be a little bigger for the price point, it retails at 7.99.

Try it!!

Clinique!!!....Girlaaaaaaa!

What's UP!!?

So....I think I've found my staple product facial moisturizer! If you don't know, I have oily skin; very oily skin smh. I've tried several different kinds of drugstore facial moisturizers and even natural oils/products that don't really work well for me. I don't wear make up everyday nor do I even feel like applying makeup everyday so it's important for me to take care of my skin and protect my skin even when I'm out in public.

I have applied some "oil-free" products on my face and have walked out the door and in a matter of 1-2 hours have had to dab my face with my hands (I know thats a NO-NO, lol), or with a tissue. I went to Sephora while on a mini vacay to Houston, TX last week and purchased the new NARS foundation, I'll blog about that a little later by the way. I received a few samples of products in my bag after I checked out. One of the samples was CLINIQUE DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT MOISTURIZING GEL for combination to oily skin, I decided to try the gel on my last day in Texas; that morning after I washed my face I applied the gel to my face and put my glasses on and packed up and heading back to NC.

I wanted to see if this oil-free gel was actually going to work for me! Girlaaaa! it did!!! I actually was in disbelief and shocked at how well the product worked, I touched my face after a couple hours expecting to wipe off oil spots on my face and there were NONE! I literally said to myself, "As soon as I get back, I'm purchasing the full size version of this!" Sure enough, I headed to Ulta (by the way, I have my own personal thoughts about Ulta as of recently, I'll keep them to myself for now), and purchased the 1.7 oz tube of the oil-free gel and I have been using it for the past 3 days now and I freaking LOVE IT!!!

If you have oily skin like me, I would highly recommend that you try this out for yourself and see if you have the same results if not better!

Getting Rid of my Smile lines...update

I'll just be honest, although I didn't apply the coconut oil every single day, on my smile lines, I didn't really see a difference anyway. I will still continue to do it anyway, since it's natural and I think that it does have some kind of benefit or benefits; like smoother skin for example!

I didn't think I should even post a picture, because honestly my face looks the same as before lol!

So my review on applying coconut oil to your smile lines daily for a month, not much of a difference at all! However, I would still continue to apply coconut oil when I can remember to do so, as I think it does have benefits and maybe after using it for some time I will see a difference in my smile line appearance!

SNS Nails (standard nail system) 😍😍

If you haven’t been on the wave of SNS nails, let me fill you in, mmk! So I started getting SNS Nails several months ago, had a trial and error season before I found a place I absolutely love and am now a regular at in Charlotte, NC.

So it’s a dip powder that you dip your nail into after a adhesive/activator polish is applied to each nail and then another coat of the activator polish is applied and then each nail is dipped in the color powder of your choice ; you get a couple layers of that applied to each nail before it’s again sealed with another coat of activator polish and then a gel nail polish and then a couple coats of polish to seal the powder as well. The claim is the powder contains vitamins making it a healthier option for your nails ....I don’t know about the vitamins but I do know that my nails don’t feel weak or brittle upon removal. By the way, you remove the SNS powder like you would remove gel polish; with Acetone. My nail lady does fill ins with SNS shhh, lol ALOT of nail salons won’t do fill ins but my nail tech does! Honestly, I love my nails even more after getting a fill in. Now, while I do love SNS and prefer that over any other nail service, I have experienced some minor cracking of at most 1 nail, but I also do a lot with my hands in a given day and sometimes I hit it on things because I can be a bit clumsy, but I’m guaranteed to keep the SNS on my nails for at least 3-4 weeks ; no issues with color being and looking worn, I still have shine on my nails, and I’ve always gotten compliments on my nails 😊😊👌🏽 .

I will say that getting SNS is not necessarily a cheaper option, the price point for a full set is $35 where I go and a fill in is $30, that’s actually cheaper than I’ve been able to find in an actual salon. Also, SNS can be applied over your natural nail or nail extensions; I have mine applied over my natural nail ALWAYS. Its also not a real quick nail service; it can be about the same amount of time as an acrylic full set depending on who does your nails; mine are guaranteed to take at least an hour, because my nail tech is very detail oriented and I love it and she never rushes!

if you’ve never tried SNS before I’d say give it a try and see how you like it!

I just love these colors...and my nails grow fast too!

This is a SNS fill in, and it doesn't look super thick, thank goodness.
